Razzle Dazzle

This vintage showgirl costume is amazing! I know I would never do anything with it other than lounge around in it while doing my makeup but that doesn't keep me from wanting it.

Here's the auction listing, if I had an extra $300 burning a hole in my pocket it would be mine!  For now I'll just have to admire it from afar.

So much to be thankful for:

- a pretty and warm house full of the things that I love
- running water
- the internet
- all of my amazing and creative friends
- my cooking skills
- two of the cutest little brother cats
- flowers
- my education
- the redwood forest
- a caring boyfriend that always makes me laugh

I could go on and on but there's ten. Happy Thanksgiving!

Childhood Breakfast

Brunch is my favorite part of Sundays. Today I made my favorite breakfast from my childhood, eggs in a basket. So easy to make:

- butter a slice of your favorite bread
- press the rim of a glass into a piece of bread, punch out the circle to make a hole
- lay the slice of bread and bread circle into a pan on medium heat, allow one side to brown
- flip over slice of bread and bread circle, allowing the other side to brown slightly
- crack an egg into the hole in the slice of bread, cook until the bottom of the egg has set, about 2 minutes
- slide a spatula under the slice of bread and flip the bread very gently (being sure to keep the yolk from breaking)
- let the other side cook until the yold has set to your liking

One of my favorite simple breakfasts!

Sewing with Martha + Wendy

Check out this video of Wendy Mullin (of Built by Wendy) making a poncho using a frying pan as a measuring tool on the Martha Stewart show.

This seems like the simplest thing in the world to make, there are only 3 measurements/cuts and you only need one yard of fabric. I think it looks so cute in the Hudson Stripe wool and I love the way Wendy styled hers belted in the front.

So clever!

Bed Head

I love this tutorial on how to achieve the perfect messy bun on the Parisienne blog.

The best thing about this hairstyle is the more you screw up, the better.
